The Baked Goods

Some time ago my mum and I tried the high tea package (75k) at The Baked Goods, Sabang.
The bakery is owned by Jane Parengkuan and it is claimed to provide healthy cakes and cookies.

The high tea package will give you some cookies (chocolate, lemon, coconut, and couple more), a cupcake, a quiche, and a tuna sandwich. As for the tea, it was no ordinary tea. The color was red, and my guess it was rosella tea (CMIIW please ^_^).

The picture below is showing the package for 2, which means double the quantity.

I love everything on it ! And I did really enjoy the lemon poppyseed cookies so I ended up buying the full size (35k).

It was right up my taste bud, not overly sweet. Will definitely go back there again to try their other menus.

Dapur Cokelat

It seems like Jakarta has been "attacked" by the hype of red velvet cake and rainbow cake.
Almost every cake shop now carries these cakes just to catch up with the trend.
Some are actually nice, some are just pure disappointment.

The other day a friend gave away rainbow cake from Dapur Cokelat for her birthday.
The cake was okay, a moist sponge cake. The taste was not overly sweet so you can actually eat more than one slice. As for the cream cheese, I did not really get anything cheese from it.
But, overall it was a nice cake. The price was not so bad either. 1 slice of rainbow cake = 17.5k.

Ten Ten

Last week my friend and I tried this restaurant called Ten Ten in Plaza Indonesia.
The restaurant specialized in tempura, but they carry other Japanese food. No sushi though in this restaurant.

At that time I was not in the mood for tempura, so I decided to have Niku udon (udon with beef), 45k. It was pretty good. The portion was not too big which I like. The soup was tasty enough, the noodle was chewy, and the beef was tender.

My friend had the ebi tempura with rice. I tasted the tempura a little bit. For me, it was not too special. Tasted like any other tempura. But my friend really enjoyed it.

Do An Vietnamese Experience

I was craving for Pho (Vietnamese noodle soup) the other day. So a friend and I decided to have lunch at Do An. In my opinion, they serve the best pho among other Vietnamese restaurant here in Jakarta.
I love Vietnamese food, and I used to work at a Chinese/Vietnamese restaurant when I was in US. The restaurant is owned by a couple of Viet who migrated from Vietnam to US many years ago. So the authenticity is guaranteed.
Sadly, here in Jakarta, I cannot find Vietnamese food as good as that.
But Do An can cure my craving a little bit. ^_^

Pho with beef (45k)

It was a nommy lunch. I had Vietnamese ice coffee as my drink. Quite refreshing for a sunny day.
Now I'm craving for Vietnamese sandwich.. Will go to Cafe Deli ASAP !! ^_^
