Paulaner Bräuhaus

I was craving for some meat last week, so I dragged one of my friend to go to Paulaner.
It was lunch time so not too crowded.

We ordered several things.

German bread basket: sourdough, salt-stick roll, laugen-stick roll and mini pretzel (25k)

Hearty goulash soup (65k)

Grilled pork sausage with french fries (90k)

half portion of crispy pork knuckle served with sauerkraut, bread dumplings and gravy (120k)

Home-made warm apple strudel with vanilla sauce (50k)

As for the drink, I tried the lychee flavoured drink, 0.3 L 

 

Overall it was a nice meal. I was not a fan of the bread. Well, Iguess my tongue is not used to European style bread. The goulash was so - so for me. Not that special but it was big enough to be shared. 

The sausage was great, tender and juicy. As for the knuckle, it was oh so delicious. The skin was crispy, and the meat was tender. But I had to put lots of sauce because the meat itself was kind of bland.

The apple strudel was so yummy. I really love the vanilla sauce. I might come back to this place just to get the apple strudel ^_^

Kedai Gentong ice cream

The weather was so hot yesterday.
My guess it was around 38 degree Celsius.
Pheeww...
After doing some shopping, my mom and I stopped by at Kedai Gentong to have some ice cream.

The shop claimed to serve old style ice cream with many flavors.
Chocolate, cookies and creams, strawberry, vanilla, durian, jack fruit, etc etc.

We decided to have waffle with two scoops of ice cream. They have other options such as bun ice cream, banana split, brownie ice cream, and the simple cup/cone as well.
I picked cookies and cream while my mom had jack fruit and chocolate.

The texture is smooth, and the taste is just right, not overly sweet.
It was a yummy treat for a very hot day.

Peach Garden

Yesterday I had dinner with my family at Peach Garden - PX Pavilion.
Usually we order dimsum there, but since there was 40% discount using certain credit card, we decided to order the ala carte menu (dimsum was not included for the discount ^_^)

We had the charsiu, kerapu (grouper fish) in BBQ sauce, braised seafood noddle, and mayonaise shrimp.

My favorite was the shrimp. It was in good size and good amount, and I liked the crispiness of the shrimp.
My least favorite sadly was the most expensive one, the kerapu. I found that the taste is plain and did not meet my expectation of what I had in mind. It was pretty small too compared to the picture in the menu.
Overall, it was a good meal. And the 40% discount made it even better. ^_^
